Barker's Lane Community School was first established in 1977 and was totally refurbished in 2003. We aim to create a caring and stable environment where pupils may develop confidence and independence and an awareness of the needs of others. This is to be achieved if all children, staff and parents are aware of the consequences of their own actions. Working together we can help and support each other to achieve our mission statement:- "Everyone cares, learns and celebrates success together." Now in 2009 there are 227 pupils aged 3 - 11 and we are proud of what we have achieved. We value outdoor learning and have developed our grounds to a high standard winning 'Wales in Bloom best school gardens nationally in 2007'.
